September whirl
Yep, that's what this last weekend felt like! Friday night we set up stall at the music Hootenanny in Buddha's Backyard where we enjoyed some fabulous folk music and some new faces. Then off to Dundee on Saturday, where after several foiled attempts to find the carpark for the Caird Hall, trying to follow a route planner, we finally realised that as long as we followed signs for the Unicorn Frigate we were heading in the right direction. Also discovered that the unicorn and griffin which feature as sculptures in the City Square are significant in that these are the figures on Dundee's coat of arms. According to a conversation with a city security guard, that's because Dundee is where unicorns actually reside....well, if anyone can shed any light on this, we'd be eternally grateful cos they must have also caught the overnight sleeper South to appear in Diana Cooper's back garden! Sunday, we hosted our Lunicorn stand at our first Merchant City Square craft fair in Glasgow. The Merchant City Festival was in full swing this weekend too, including a stilted kiltie and an oversized dog with an uncannily human bark, which resulted in scaring the weans. Met some terrific people there and it's a venue we'll be returning to often before Christmas. Check out our calendar for details of when. Signing off now as the Lunicorns are off on a recce mission to where certain quarters call Auld Reekie.
Celestial Salutations
