Approaching the spring equinox...
So it's almost that time. The time for real new year resolutions, the time when they might actually happen....if you do nothing else on Mch 21st - sit down, light a candle, maybe burn some incense, be conscious of your breathing, and affirm. This is the best time to write down what you'd like to achieve this year. We as the Lunicorns do it with our 'believe' box, when we seal our ambitions for the year ahead. So make a note in your diary....
So, what's been happening? Well, we've been travelling about plenty. It's true, the snow did come to Aberdeen whilst we were there. On the journey up at the ungodly hour of five in the morning, we did kinda wonder what the fuss was all about, then 40 miles from Aberdeen, complete whiteout. Being a bit of a woos when it comes to driving, I realised the only way was forward, as we couldn't even see the road edge. If anything, the weather bonded all us stallholders at the Body & Soul fair even more. After the fair, we clambered over fields of snow like weans and threw snowballs and built snowmen. Aberdeen is a fabulous city and we love it! And Travelodges are pretty cool too, particularly as we have now employed our very own toaster on the premises for hot buttered breakfasts in the morning. And wait for it, soon to arrive, is our very own three in one breakfast maker, so not only can we make toast, but we can fry an egg too. As one Lunicorn approaches her 40th year on this planet, she realises how very sad she has become. Anyhoo, as if snow up north wasn't enough, we had blooming 12 inches in Glasgow this weekend too! What's happening, is this not supposed to be Spring? The time to start the gardening? Still never cast a cloot till May is oot, as my mother always says. That said, one Lunicornette had a coffee with her friend Suzanne in the midst of the Glasgow snowfall. As she sat there with bedraggled hair, trackie bottoms tucked into walking boots, hat, gloves, scarf etc., in wafted Suzanne with a glamorous black coat and foxy black boots. In an instant, the coat was off, a hair not out of place, and revealed a summer floaty top. How does she do it?
In addition to our usual Mind, Body & Spirit type fayres, we've been setting out the Lunicorn stall at a variety of call centres and hospitals in Scotland and so far the response has been good. The dates aren't on our website, as more often than not, they're not a public event, only open to staff. However, that's not to say you can't enjoy the Lunicorn experience yourself - you know the website!
