Canter Bury Tails....

Unicorns can canter, they also have tails and we've been in Bury. (For the purposes of title translation!)
At one point, we thought this particular Lunicorn mission would have to be cancelled, as both Lunicorns have come down with a nasty chest infection. However, we braced ourselves, swallowed some antibiotics and made the trip.
Now back in our own manor, we've just run over to our local shop to eagerly pick up our Sunday Herald that we'd pre-booked (even though it's Monday!)only to discover alas and alack, it had been sent back!!! Ahhh, sometimes home comforts just aren't meant to be. Still, whilst in England, we made do with some lofty other Sunday papers, BUT, you just can't beat the Sunday Herald. So, instead of catching up with yesterday's Scottish news, we thought we'd write yet another blog.
So there we were at the Manchester Birch Travelodge East (reputedly the worst in the country - we found it excellent, and the staff very friendly)searching for a loaf of bread to pop in our own toaster (naughty!). We walked for what seemed like miles to procure one. Not a lot of shops on the M62! And in so doing, also found a local hostelry which was big on mushrooms and stilton. But forgetting we were in England and that the smoking ban had not yet reached them there parts, were stunned to find people happily lighting up INSIDE!!! It's amazing how quickly we've got used to the smoking ban here in Scotland, and we really noticed the difference this weekend. As one Lunicorn has still to kick the dreadful habit, it was part joy to be able to have a smoke and a drink at the same time, and part annoyance at being allowed to. Bizarre!
So the Life Quest exhibition at Castle Armoury was why we were there. We were gladdened to see friendly familiar Scottish faces in the shape of Hilary and Dave from Four Winds Meditations (Tibetan singing bowls) and thanks guys for allowing us to follow you out of Bury with its confusing roads last night. Then we took to the guidance of our AA route planner, only to discover it had taken us to the other side of the M62 - Birch West services!!!
There were some funny energies hovering at the exhibition so we called in our unicorns to help and protect. That said, there were also some fabulous experiences around us this weekend. One Lunicorn met a very good friend who she hadn't seen for twenty years! She had only just moved to Bury that week, and it transpires is also following an intensely spiritual path. Spooky or what?
Speaking of which isn't the autumn drama collection pretty good? Afterlife, Spooks, Cracker, Prime Suspect.....etc.
We digress....
So....thank you to the unicorns for leading us there and back safely. The roadworks were minimal, the road was clear (ish) and the Lunicorn mobile served us well (considering its recent injuries)
One Lunicorn also spent some time in Edinburgh last weekend and where-ever she turned on the Royal Mile seemed to spot a unicorn (usually on the coat of arms). She had a visit to Dynamic Earth, the Parliament and Ocean Terminal then returned to the calming sanctuary of the Belford Hotel (thank you Richard!)
Another Lunicorn is off to Anglesey on Thursday to celebrate her father's 75th birthday with the entire family. Never a dull moment!
Meanwhile, the next place to catch the Lunicorn spirit and wares is at the Mind, Body & Spirit Exhibition at The Moodiesburn House Hotel on Saturday. If you're free and in the locale, please come and say hello (AND REMEMBER THE PASSWORD IF YOU WANT A DISCOUNT)
Though we now may both have Lancashire accents (well, for at least a day), we never managed to sample any Lancashire 'otpot! Might be something to do with the meat factor, wethinks!
Running out of original sign-offs these days, so we'll stick with....
Love and light
The Lunicorns
