Mums know best....
And so, the two Lunicorns went off to their respective parents to receive some TLC, and in the case of one Lunicorn, some incredibly awful tasting cough medicine called Ammonia and Epichechenana or something....Still and all, it was time to recharge the batteries, fight over dad's crossword and play with their ringtones. So here we are now back in the fold of Lunicorn Heights with strict instructions to keep taking the medicine!(And no doubt, two hourly phonecalls to check that it is indeed being ingested as per instructions) At what point do we stop being children? I guess, the point when we have children of our own, and have to assume the mantle of carer, rather than cared for...? Can't help but feel that we're at an age when we should be looking after our parents, but as long as they have their faculties (and indeed they have) we should be thankful that SOMETIMES, it's ok to go home to the nest, pull up the duvet, and just, well, be 'looked after'. Maybe that's selfish, but sometimes mums love being able to do what they do best. And sometimes, if we're lucky enough to still have our parents, it's ok to let them.
And so, on that note, feeling a wee bit bereft that it's back to being an independent Lunicorn, I must go and ensure that I take my medicine.
Cough, splutter, and sneeze....
Toodlepip.
