Magic and Mayhem
Greetings fellow Lunicorners,
We've been busy. Quelle supreeeeeeeeez. We had our first Gather in Glasgow childrens workshop - you know the theme - Unicorns, Fairies & Wizards. Despite the fact that the yogies had been in the space before us and thus had the heating up full bung, we perspired through it. It's a marvellous space at Gather, if you've not been, it's well worth a check oot. And we're reliably informed, it's not usually as tropical as it was that particular Saturday. Kids seemed to enjoy themselves, so much so, we've sparked a forum discussion on a website called 'Damsels'... And as reports filter in of children from workshop with unicorn tattoos still intact after several days, we really do have to revise that line when administering aforementioned tattoos "and this means you must not wash for a week". And so, to our next workshop at New Lanark on May 7th. Another great space and location. Meanwhile, over at the 'oldest hoose in Glesga' - the Provand's Lodge & St Mungo's Museum, we're setting up stall on 28th July for its Family Fun Day. Had a great meeting with Tony there this week. Quite a guy, and of course we like him hugely because he bought us carrot cake. Hoping the lovely Agnes can join us there too with her therapies galore. After all, it was back in dem olden days, a place of 'healing'. One Lunicorn was treated to a 'family constellation' by the wondrous Nikki at the start of the week. It was BIG - and there were tears too. Now, there's a fine example of a lady who is 100% spiritually authentic, but then she does bring us chocolate so....speaking of which, what with Easter and stuff, we've been noticing (maybe it's an age thing) that rarely do eggs have the goodies inside nowadays. Usually there's the empty chocolate egg, and packaged somewhat over-eggedly to the side in a plastic compartment is what you would have got inside the egg. Therefore it was with much glee we discovered Nikki's gift of a Smarties egg, had its contents inside. Oh joyously did we strategically split the choc with a child friendly knife to discover some pink smarties which looked worryingly like Ibuprofen and some jewellery. Not only did we receive a heart shaped plastic bracelet, but a pink heart ring (like something Goldie would wear in his yoof). And then to top it all a matching necklace. Note to Nestle....don't be kiddist - we couldn't get the necklace round our double chins, so we were somewhat bereft and to be honest, felt a bit marginalised, as forty-somethings wanting to enjoy the splendour of a Smarties egg. Do we feel a letter coming on? On that note, and apologies to any guys reading this, as we know how you still smart at the mention of female monthlies, but on opening a box of T**p*x recently, we discovered one A**l*c*t*r paper torn. Thinking that it could well have been injected with some explosive device (perish the thought, but such is our propaganditary current climate), and hopeful of some vouchers, the Lunicorns penned a letter to Proctor & Gamble. It was with great delight that we did indeed receive an assurance that there had been no tampering with the tam***s, and a fiver voucher. Sweet! Took it over to our local shop who said "we don't normally accept vouchers" but to quell his embarrassment, said "ok then, we will this time". One box of Super Plus and one box of Regular later, we exited saying "keep the change". Moving swiftly on....we're at Bewitching Beauty on Friday then off to Auld Reekie for the Edinburgh Body & Soul fair at The Assembly Rooms at the weekend and word has it, good things are bound for May (hence the title). April could be construed as May's hem, or would that really be June? And here's another quick link - June Moore, owner of Inspirations in Motherwell is hosting a Mystic & Holistic Day in Hamilton at the end of this month (see our calendar for full details). Obviously we'll be there, but there's other magical unicorn stuff going on too. And so to the days ahead - Dr Mark - looking foward very much to our meeting in Borders, Allan, you don't know this yet, but we'll be calling on your talents, and Amy, well cannae wait till your gig in the Liquid Ship on 26th. Oh yes, and isn't that the date of a certain magical lady's 30th birthday too? Did we mention the Smoking Unicorn print? That's a whole other story.
Till then, luxurious luminosity and lovely things.
The Lunicorns
