JK Rawks!

Yes, we were there in a queue at midnight on Friday awaiting the last Harry Potter instalment from the pen of J.K. Rowling. We've been there from the beginning. A friend, back in 1997 sent me a copy of "Harry Potter & The Philosopher's Stone", and inside was a compliment slip saying simply "Try this for therapy". So it was somewhat emotional on Friday night awaiting my copy of "The Deathly Hallows". The girl in front of us, same age, was red-eyed and had told her boyfriend to leave her alone all weekend. She said she didn't know whether to read it or leave it. I suspect like me, she stayed up all night on Friday and began to devour. Similarly on Saturday and then it was last night that I finished the gripping tale. Relieved that I knew, annoyed that I'd reached my destination so very quickly. So many layers, so many messages, Ms Rowling is definitely a light worker and she certainly answered the call when it came all those years ago on that train to Manchester. You've probably read more than enough on Harry Potter this weekend in the press, or are engaged with the reading of the all important pages, so I will leave it there.
Visited an old haunt near Lochwinnoch last week - Muirshiel Country Park. Climbed to Windy Hill amidst the mist and the rain, and felt as we descended and looked back that we had just been to Brigadoon. Met an honorary druid in the form of Bob and learned all about Harrier Hens.
Went to meet our friend Allan, composer extraordinaire, at the weekend, who was ready to unleash the music he'd been working on to accompany the vocal on our cd. It was perfect, like he'd channelled it. Truly, working with professionals like Allan and Ewan, makes tasks so much more enjoyable. Our friend Dr Roy told us earlier this year, that it's often the things that take the least effort that prove to be the most significant. And how true that has been with our cd. Though I'm not sure Allan would agree, by his own admission, he's not good with deadlines.
Visited Balmaha last week too and went for a pensive walk around the loch.
We're off for more workshops on Arran next week, then it's into August and the big one with Body & Soul at the Royal Concert Hall. I wonder what Diana Cooper (special guest) will think of our unicorn cd?
And so, time to go and arrange my Harry Potter books in order. I seem to be missing the Goblet of Fire, so if I've lent it to anyone, and that person happens to be reading this, please return.
I'm assuming our patronus would be a unicorn, but luckily we've never had to cast it....yet!
Love from Muggledom

Aaaah! Wonderful! Magical! Amazing! A walk aroung Balmaha! Spent most of my childhood summer weekends and holidays there; I can almost smell the egg and tomato sandwiches, wrapped in foil and kept cool in the bracken and long grass(no cool boxes in the 'olden days'!). The cream soda and beers were weighted down in a poly bag in the water....deep joy! We lived for the 'Maid of the Loch' to come and create waves for us to play in!
Harry who?!!!
Great news re the CD...Leah says she can't wait!
Love and positive thoughts, as always, from the Far East.

..which reminds me to get in extra quantities of free range eggs for the all-day breakfasts this weekend ;-)
And on a random, un-related note, thought you would be pleased to know you are fast becoming - almost - a household name in Glasgow. Was at the mail centre in Springburn last week, trying to catch the last post (people very impatient for their magic wands - may be a Harry P-related thing, now I think about it ;-)..). Anyway, the lovely ladies at the desk were trying to figure out if they could fit aforementioned wands in jiffy bags through the 'large letter' sorting slot, and I was explaining why I was posting so many of them out (thank you Spirit & Destiny xxx), and as I attempted to explain what we sell at Tir na nOg, one of them burst in with 'oh wait, are you, is it called, it's Luna.. Luni..?? As I said, very nearly a household name!!
Congrats on the CD, see you soon xxx

aha, yes we've been to that very Royal Mail centre in Springburn. Sweet they remembered us! Crikey, Lunicorn is indeed becoming a brand. I think it's because we sound slightly lunatic? Oooooh, the wands sound good. We've got a wand which was bought in the shop that inspired Mr Olivander's Wand Shop in Diagon Alley (based in Edinburgh). Our wand is charmed by the Feather of Phoenix. All very exciting. Thank you Oona. And thank you Yasmin, now will you be ordering one of our cds?
