Talking to unicorns

From Ruth-Niven Smith and her grandchildren, Montana (nearly 10) and Oliver (7 1/2)

"I'm just in from being away with the children and I took your cd with me. We've been on holiday now since Tuesday, and every night, the first thing the children wanted when we got in was the unicorn cd. So we opened our three bedroom doors and played it every night. Now, they want one each. Actually, having listened to it right through, I love it and want my own copy. Children are pretty honest, and both of them are just in love with it".

Great feedback indeed, plus we've had postcards, telephone messages, e-mails etc. from a variety of children and adults who have thus far, genuinely enjoyed our new cd. And that's only been just over a week since its launch.

For one Lunicorn, at the moment, who is in the midst of a media project, she finds it frustrating that she has not been able to go 'full tilt' with the promotion as yet. In fact, one day last week, when attempting to write a press release on the cd, and finding her pc incredibly slow and clunky (she was stealing half an hour from another project), she heard her unicorn spirit guide say "we can wait, get on with the task in hand, and get back to us when you've finished that". And hence, so no press copies have gone out yet. But we'll get straight onto that after Sept. 9th.

Aha, so this weekend, it seems we are to be a couple of street urchins for the Victorian Fair at New Lanark Mills. We initially thought busty hostelry ladies, and then thought, what with the unclement Scottish weather, we may be better opting for Artful Dodger type costumes. Shaping up to be a good fair, so if you're in the vicinity on Sunday and fancy a day out of the olden days, then well worth a visit.

We'll probably blog again afore the Viking Festival in Largs, when the Lunicorns will be of the lesser spotted variety, as though our wares will be there, we will be elsewhere. However our very good friend Joyce has opted to become a Lunicorn for the four days and is very competent in all things unicorn.

And of course Dundee Body & Soul Fair on Saturday September 8th is our next biggie, and for that we will most definitely be there in person. Could we ever miss a Body & Soul Fair? NEVER!

Rumour would have it that there's a bit of a big event happening on Glasgow Green on September 9th via the BBC Film Festival. One Lunicorn, nay two, may be there, but in an entirely different capacity, so watch out for a frantic lady with a walkie talkie....

Have to say, these past couple of weeks have been phenomenal for Lunicorn, and have enjoyed so much, living in the moment, tuning into the magic, and indeed the kindness of strangers, and being able to reciprocate. Don't want this to sound patronising, because most of the people who read our blogs, we're sure already practice this, but if not, just for tomorrow, try thinking goodness about everybody (even the folks who really irritate you) and be kind....let people in to your lane in traffic jams, smile at strangers, and don't worry what anyone thinks about you if you find yourself singing a song to yourself....see what happens...

Ego is a wonderful thing, once you lose it!

So till next time, we wish you light and spiritual heights.

Lots of love
The Lunicorns

Hah! Once again we have to sign in anonymously cos we cannae remember our google password. Sure it's an age thing. Yes to Dundee blog, no to beeb blog, that's a different life and has no place on this site. That said, suppose we did mention it on recent blog, but tried to keep it cryptic...has nicnac been on the nectar, or is just having a laugh? Yes, we'll be smiling at Viking Horns and thinking we have two, when one will clearly suffice?
Hurrah for The Witch Hiker and all things 'spiritual and ethical'
