Northern Lights

Returned yesterday from Aberdeen after a magnificent weekend brimming with ideas. The Aberdonians are a very friendly bunch and our location at the Beach Pavilion for the Body & Soul Health Fair, as its name might suggest, was smack bang on the beachfront. A great way of getting energised in the morning was to walk out to the waves and let the roar of the sea refresh. Getting to know a few fellow stall-holders now too and the camaradarie is infectious. And in the Market Square of Aberdeen we spotted a unicorn in a carousel, where back in 1646 market traders peopled the roundhouse with stalls. On Monday we visited Merlin's Grove (previously Kabbalah) on King Street where we met Drennan and Emma. It was their very first day of opening and we showed them our boxes which they liked and are now stocking - wonderful! We can't think of a more perfect host in that neck of the woods. Also met Kimberley and Tom from a new magazine called Awareness - publishing from a spiritual perspective, it's currently distributed as a freesheet around Aberdeen but a copy can be obtained by dropping them an e-mail. Great balls of fire

Just returned from Body & Soul's fair in Stirling and on the journey home spotted the most enormous fiery red setting sun on the day that our sun boxes were our most popular wares. A good day filled with magical meetings including Rosemary from Lotus Crystals in Ayrshire who questioned references to our business as "new age". "I would have thought" she rightly mused "that Lunicorn is more about reclaiming ancient wisdom and bringing it into the consciousness. After all, we have a "new age" every decade..." That got us to thinking, true enough, as anything deemed "new age" these days is usually drawing from times gone past, traditions of yore, and simple stuff like nature. So that's our thought for the day, we haven't figured out exactly how to explain what Lunicorn does, is etc. yet, but it's certainly NOT new age! Thanks to Agnes from Body & Soul and her thoughts on our display. As a colour therapist, she knows what she's talking about. And Hilary from Four Winds Meditation with her wise words on integrity and how crucial it is in the business of spirituality. Most of us would take it as read, but apparently not always the case. Hmmmmm.
This was our first fair since returning from Corfu, its mosquitoes, its end of season lack of veggie food, the gecko in the apartment, the thunderstorm plane landing (eventually!), the cockerel with the wonky clock who chose to cock-a-doodle-do at 3.30am every morning, the lack of sunshine and ahem....the basket by the loo. Yep, more tales to tell, but don't want to be sued by the Corfu Travel Police, so we'll leave it there.
Heading for the Northern Lights of Aberdeen this coming weekend when we are looking forward to meeting some cool folks. Many people have told us today about how spiritual Aberdonians are, so we're hoping for a good turnout.
Would also like to recommend a book recommended to us in Harrogate, for anyone who likes unicorns. It was thought out of print but it can be found in most good bookstores - written in the 1940s, it's "The Little White Horse" by Elizabeth Goudge. A wonderful, gentle story of Moon Princesses, believing in ourselves, and unicorns.
We could chat all night, but alas we have a car to unpack, dinner to make and a wonderful programme on telly called "Afterlife" to view, not to mention a wee bit of Parky later.
