...and so it seems that day after day we happened upon yet another travelodge with the same 'dream' pictures on the walls, those unmistakable quilts and the window in exactly the same place, until we found ourselves somewhat excited to discover ourselves in a corner room in the first floor of a travelodge in Perth recently. Yes, the prints on the walls were the same, everything else was exactly as we had left it in Inverness, BUT the window was different! We had two windows in the corner. It was fabulous. Albeit we may now be sounding like Travelodge bores, and the wind was howling all night, but hey, it was a changed environment for us, and we loved it. So, we've been to the Highlands and back in the midst of some dreadful weather. The little Lunicorn mobile struggled to withstand the 80mph winds in the Cairngorms but thankfully the unicorns were looking out for us and we made it back safe and sound. Our friend Liam very kindly gifted us some selenite unicorn horn crystals and a rather wonderfully bizarre flashing unicorn magnetised badge to see us on our way, so we felt well protected. Our highlights of the past while or so have been the vegetarian menu selection at the 'Snow Goose' in Inverness, adjacent to aforementioned travelodge. However, they must have got a job lot on mushrooms because for three nights running the specials were "mushroom lasanga" and er..."mushroom soup". Still, never a word be said against them, as they were good enough to supply us with a tub of ice on request...And that tub of ice was never more required a few weeks ago when one Lunicorn found herself falling her full length outside the Perth Travelodge with important caskets in hand including a bottle of whisky. Lying on her back in agony with sprained ankle and bloodied knee, she could only utter those immortal words "is the whisky intact"? To which of course, the other Lunicorn fell about in peals of laughter....A first aid kit later....and the scabs of which injury can still we're sure be found in the Inverness travelodge (nice). So you'll be pleased to hear the knee has now gone pink and shiny and and the ankle, well it's still clicking, as one Inverness reflexologist muttered. So we spotted the unicorn statue at the eastgage in Inverness, and outside St. john's in Perth, and even in the stained glass in the Royal Highland Hotel of Inverness. They're EVERYWHERE! Thanks again to Ruth for inviting us into her home to host a 'Unicorns, Fairies & Wizards' party, and for introducing us to the mystical Velsha and to Duncan for putting up with us in the kitchen. And hey Lyn Haworth, when will we get time to chat? And Christine today for visiting us at Holmwood House (did we mention they're having a Christmas Cracker in Cathcart? Santa's there, in his grotto, it's all very, very magical...). Thanks to Jen for her belief and her time, Merle for her continued web spinning, Carole and John similarlly, and Andy and Allan. And finally, thanks to Yasmin, though she will probably NEVER read this blog, but she knows what she's done. So till next blog....
