Crystals a go go

Well now, had we not been without the relative luxuries of broadband for the last WEEK (thank you NTL) we would certainly have posted this sooner, because to be sure (we have suddenly become Irish?!), did we not experience the most wondrous, magical, otherworldly therapy in Milnathort in Kinross-shire last Friday? Our good friend Lyn Haworth (see website under news) very kindly offered us each a crystal therapy, wondrous company, terrific meal and of course, an odd dram, as we found ourselves in that there neck of the woods afore the Perth Summer Craft Market. Truly, it was the most surreal and amazing therapy ever experienced. Both of us seperately saw different colours, experienced different sensations and over all finished the therapy feeling altogether better than when we first went in. Thank you Lyn. And the Hedgehog watch therapy helped too. (see Pet Parade on website - Ali B.) And yes, despite what Graham says, those trees really DID have faces. Meanwhile we've had a week of things just not working......but with today's New Moon, all fixed today. The plumber arrived as did the NTL engineer and here we are with a brand spanking new modem and er.....our pipes are more fluid, so to speak. How ironic then that we should be hosting our stall tomorrow at none other then NTL Telewest Broadband (just as well they fixed it today, or we'd have been kidnapping some staff whilst there) Since last we spoke, we've been at the Mugdock Makkers event at Mugdock Country Park in Milngavie which involved a lot of marquees and a bouncy castle in glorious sunshine. On Friday, we're off to the mystical Isle of Arran to host our first of three 'Fairies, Elves & Unicorns' workshops for the weans. Not entirely sure how it will pan out, but suffice to say, there'll be fairy tiaras, magical wizard wands and angel boas to boot. Not to mention some intriguing interactive fairy boxes, a fairy treasure hunt and some colouring in. Phew. As if that wasn't enough, we're off to Balloch Craft Fair on Saturday and the Botanics on Sunday. Who said living a magical existence was easy....? Answers on a unicorn feather please?

Ahoy!

Yes, somewhat giddy that we've been below deck on THE TALL SHIP today, it seems another blog immediately beckons. For one Lunicorn, she is definitely inspired and dressing in full pirate garb tomorrow for the second day of the River Festival in Glasgow. The sun shone, people came and it seems the Lunicorn word is spreading... Today we met folks from Hamilton to America who had heard or seen the Lunicorn wares, and it felt good. Aside from the perspective of running a business, how exciting to be on an actual ancient ship, albeit we had to blu tac our crystals to our light boxes to prevent them from sliding off (slopes/tides etc.)?We saw kids scrubbing the decks, ringing the bell and trying to steer an 'anchored' wheel. Thankfully we never saw any weans scale the big portruding thing at the front like they might have had to do in the olden days (along with shimmying up chimneys and the like). Seriously though, we don't know we're born, when we think what it must have been like to work in them there days. Our greatest wonder today was watching the gradient of the gangways change with the tides from very steep to plateau to downward slope. Anyhoo, we're back there tomorrow, so if anyone is reading this and is in the locale, you might want to think about checking out the Tall Ship, because it's FREE entry for the duration of the River Festival....and there's loads else to do if you don't fancy the sealegs aspect.
Right, goodnight and cheerio, (don't know the sailing equivalent - answers please)could it be something like Ahoy there Captain?

It's been way too long since our last blog...

So, here we are in the wee small hours putting digits to laptop....since last we mused, we've been a-ferry hopping, over to the Isle of Arran, and meeting the wonderful Mhairi at the Burnside Gallery. Now there's a place that isn't elitist, and is wholly interactive with the local community. And as Arran is a magical Isle, it seems the Lunicorns will be hosting workshops in the near future entitled 'Fairies, Elves & Unicorns' so if you've any stray weans with some time to kill, you might want to think about booking them into one of our workshops. Dates on the website, and we promise, apart from a bit of idle unicorn tattoo-ing, we won't lead them astray. Speaking of which, we hosted our Lunicorn stall at Witchfest in Glasgow last weekend. What a terrific atmosphere! And we were only sorry in the midst of packing up that we missed the Hellfire Fashion Show taking place on the main stage. It seemed decidedly decadent.
This week, we're on the Tall Ship at Glasgow's Riverfest. Built in 1876, we're sure the Tall Ship has lots of tales to tell. Here's a spooky thing....my mother recently gifted me a fruitbowl which was gifted to her by my Great Great Uncle Andy (who used to take me for walks as a child in the Ayrshire hills, as well as gift me half a dozen fresh eggs, a golden cream caramel and 10p every Saturday). Out of curiosity, we checked out the markings on its underside on the web, only to discover, wait for it, it came from the Unicorn Pottery....!! How amazing? And the trademark of H & K Tunstall, its maker, is a.....unicorn! Obviously meant to be. We've now let it breathe/live with the other unicorns in its midst and it is sitting pride of place in the conservatory. Pleased to see that our Lunicorn word is spreading to distant shores as well as local on the world wide web, Lunicorn is indeed going global. It's been a great summer so far, and we're watching our vibrant corn flowers soar and our tomatoes take to the skies with unerring ambition. Just call us Tom and Barbara. It's definitely the Good Life, either way. Just wait till you see those tomatoes on e-bay....
For all of those who have been kind enough to join our mailing list, one of these days in the not too distant future, we WILL get round to writing a scintillating newsletter, so watch this space.
In the meantime, live well, stay happy, and be kind to even those who sometimes just don't deserve it. Plus pleasantries confuse aforementioned bods so keep smiling safe in the knowledge that you've rocked their 'ken'.
All of that too puzzling? Well, accept that one Lunicorn is now four days without the nicotine, and possibly therefore somewhat shell-shocked, if not at least healthier.
Love & Light
